When people ask me "Why do you want to teach?", my answer is this: Students are one of the fundamental keys to the success of our planet, they have the ability to take make an astronomical amount of change in our world. I want my students to ask questions and really think deeply about different problems that surround their lives. Teaching students to think critically and creatively will help push them towards answering those problems they encounter. My teaching style would include hands on activities and learning outside of the classroom. The best way to teach students about the environment and conservation is by having them experience it in person. I want those hands on experiences to drive their curiosity and their love of the environment. I want students to see our world as a beautiful place that they make a difference in and that I will be right there to help them a long they way. Giving students the tools to go out and truly make a change for the world is the impact I want to have on my students.
